Meet Our Founder: Dr. Ankur Chikara

Dr. Ankur Chikara is a senior consultant Physician and Diabetologist, practicing at Ekaayi Medcare Center in Vikaspuri, New Delhi. With over 8 years of experience in the realm of internal medicine, Dr. Chikara has earned a sterling reputation for his versatile and patient-centric approach to healthcare. Dr. Chikara's journey began with academic excellence, as he consistently received gold medals throughout his educational path. He completed his post-graduate training in Internal Medicine from the prestigious University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) in New Delhi, where he honed his skills and gained invaluable expertise. One of Dr. Chikara's remarkable contributions to the field of medicine is his groundbreaking work on "The Effect of Atorvastatin Therapy on Serum Vitamin D Levels, Oxidative Stress, and Insulin Resistance." This study has not only been widely recognized but has also paved the way for innovative approaches to patient care. In 2016, Dr. Chikara extended his training to diabetes management under the Diabetes Education Program conducted by Diabetic India, further deepening his expertise in a critical area of medicine. His commitment to continuous learning led him to complete a post-graduate course in cardiology from the renowned Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and MESF in the same year. In 2021, Dr. Chikara earned a certificate in Liver Infections from the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in New Delhi, adding yet another layer to his extensive medical knowledge. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the esteemed VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi, Dr. Chikara played a pivotal role in leading the team responsible for managing Severe Acute Respiratory Infections (SARI) during the challenging COVID-19 outbreak in India. Dr. Chikara's hands-on experience extends to various medical departments, including a senior residency in Cardiology at Janakpuri Superspeciality Hospital and a residency in the Endocrinology department at GTB Hospital, New Delhi, from 2014 to 2017. His dedication to advancing medical science is underscored by numerous awards and publications in peer-reviewed international and national medicine journals, as well as contributions as an author in medical updates and books. Dr. Chikara's areas of interest encompass Diabetic Care, Gastroenterology, and Neurology. He has conducted extensive research in Dyslipidaemias, Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, and Neurological manifestations in COVID, demonstrating his commitment to providing holistic care in critical medical domains. Our founder, Dr. Ankur Chikara, embodies the values and dedication that CIMAS stands for.
